A Gorgeous Frasers Wedding

What an exciting Perth wedding season we have had. Even with expecting the cooler April temps, we’ve had some gorgeous weather and fabulous weddings! Aaron and Nat’s wedding was no exception and we had an awesome time with them, photographing their day.

We’ll start off with one of the most epic shots of the day, a breathtaking view of the city of Perth from Frasers in Kings Park. With some of the best views, especially from a photographers perspective, you’ll see why this is one of the best wedding photography locations in Perth! The lit ghost gumtrees make this shot even more magical by framing Aaron and Nat. What a pretty city we live in!

The day started off at Aaron’s parents beautiful home and at the newly weds penthouse on the water in Dalkeith. It was much fun to document all of the excitement happening in preparation for the big day ahead!

Nat’s girls helped her get wedding day ready. Once Nat was in her wedding gown, the absolute delight everyone felt was beautiful to photograph!

Nat is such a natural beauty, glamorous but not overdone. She really had the perfect bridal look. Effortlessly beautiful, with hints of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, but a style all her own.

What an adorable pair of Kate Spade wedding shoes. All the way from NYC! It’s so nice having special touches and cute wedding day details. Brides love cute shoes, and we love photographing them!

This shot takes my breath away. I love the ethereal feeling of this image. Just a quite moment as Nat takes in the waterfront view from the penthouse and the wind swept veil.

We were taking a few cute shots of Nat and her bridesmaids came out for a photo, how cute are these girls?!

This gorgeous park on the Swan River was this picturesque wedding ceremony location. Situated in Dalkeith and just a stones throw from their homes. This absolutely stunning gumtree framed the guests as they looked on.

Beautiful captures like this shot of Nat during the vows makes us love what we do so much. This single tear of happiness will always show Aaron hope much she loves him.

I love these series of moments when true personalities shine through in the photographs. I’ve heard many times that the key to a happy marriage is to  have a sense of humour and be able to laugh together. These two love to make each other laugh and are always smiling, truly best friends!

When you have a beautiful spirit and your heart is full of love, you really do glow. Aaron and Nat are such kind and loving, happy souls, we felt so lucky to photograph these special moments for them.

We love the sunny glow through the trees at Kings Park. We took a few moments to have some fun in the pine trees.

Having a wacky bridal party always makes for some fun shots! I love the look as these crazy kids cook up the next shot idea!

That’s some serious air! Aaron says he’s an Orthopedic Surgeon but I’m sure he moonlights as a basketball player.

I love the richness of the wood in this shot. Creative shots take a bit of extra work on the bridal parties behalf, but definitely worth it!

When we arrived at Frasers in Kings Park, this amazing sky is what we were greeted with. The way the rolling clouds looked above made for such a cool shot of Frasers. Once the darkness fell, we took our couple out for a few moments alone, to soak everything in. I love the city lights this time of night.

Chinese dragons or as they’re sometimes referred to as Chinese Lion Dance, always make memorable wedding receptions! The whole wedding reception was energized as the drums began to beat. Everyone was amazed by the acrobatics as the dragons made their way through the Frasers reception room!

What a show! The guests were thrilled and we were excited by the wedding photo ops!

The guests danced the night away to Top Shelf Music‘s mix of beats and had a great time dressing up to wish the couple well in the Vintage Photo Booth. It was a fabulous evening of fun, entertainment, tears, laughter and love. Congratulations Nat and Aaron, it was a total pleasure to photograph your amazing day!

Andrew + Anna’s Quarry Wedding

If you’d prefer, a wedding photography highlight of Andrew and Anna’s Quarry wedding click above!

Being wedding photographers in Perth, we always find ourselves surrounded by such beauty. Sometimes we forget how lucky we are to have such a beautiful landscape to play with. Anna and Andrew’s wedding featured a few of Perth’s prettiest photography spots! The stunning turquoise water at Scarborough Beach, the romantic dunes of City Beach, Perry Lakes and last but not least the spectacular Quarry Amphitheatre. We started off the day at Scarborough Beach’s Rendezvous Hotel. The girls were so excited to help Anna get into bride mode. They helped her transform into such an elegant bride.

The boys were having a relaxed time hanging out before the big event. Andrew was looking rather dapper and really looking forward to seeing his beautiful bride.

The wedding ceremony and wedding reception both took place at the Quarry Amphitheatre. As they entered, the guests were wowed by the uniqueness of this gorgeous location. It was the perfect spot for Anna and Andrew as they both work in the mining industry.

Such a beautiful look as Andrew sees his bride for the first time.

You can see that they were both so excited for this day and now to finally be married!

Their wedding ceremony was absolutely stunning. The lighting was soft and magical – just how we like it:)

We took the bridal limos, which consisted of classic Land Rovers and a Rolls Royce, down to Perry Lakes for some shots of the crew. The majestic trees really made for gorgeous light this time of day.

Andrew loves these classic Land Rovers, so to have them in the wedding photos was a very cool touch for them. He actually works on these classic cars to restore them to their once new condition.

This is one stunning couple, wouldn’t you agree!?

With sunset quickly approaching we captured these sunny shots of the bridal party and headed to City Beach to capture the last few moments of light. I’m glad we did because the soft clouds looked like painted feathers behind the sunset and felt very romantic.

As the sun went down the lights went up and the Quarry reception was in full swing. The way the lights played on the formations of rugged rock was simply magical. Being surrounded by rock made you feel as if  you were indoors but with a sky of stars over head.

So lovely, I just love open air receptions!

Thanks to Anna and Andrew for having us along for one amazing day! We wish you all of the happiness in the world!

A Beautiful Fremantle Wedding Under The Stars

In the full swing of wedding season here in Perth, we were very excited to photograph Bev and Ash’s Fremantle wedding! Not only was it a gorgeous day for a wedding but these two were such a fun and awesome couple to photograph. We were also excited to shoot at one of our favourite churches again, Christ Church in Claremont, for the wedding ceremony.

When we arrived at the hotel, the girls were all bustling around getting their final touches in place. Don’t you just love Bev’s Watter’s wedding gown. I was admiring the three dimensional flower details and how they add so much interest to the gown. Such a gorgeous dress for a stunning bride. The bridesmaids gowns were beautifully detailed as well. I loved the bead work on the silk. Everything looked so elegant on Bev’s girls.

The thing I love best about this photograph is the way you can instantly see the rush of emotions Bev’s Dad felt the moment he saw his little girl for the first time. Mum holding back the tears with this loving look in her eyes. This is why we love what we do so much. These meaningful moments will always be immortalized because of wedding photography.

You can see the close relationship between Bev and the Father of the Bride. What a sweet look this was, caught in the limo on the way to the church on Bev’s special day!

The wedding ceremony at Christ Church in Claremont was beautifully done by Father Peter and was enjoyed by all. Father Peter had some very powerful things to say about love and marriage. I’m sure Ash and Bev felt even closer after his beautiful words. It was the best, most meaningful ceremony I had heard in a long time.

The summer sun warmed the newlyweds as they left the wedding ceremony for the first time as husband and wife! I love the light and dark in this image and the detail on the gown!

We walked around the corner of the church so the happy couple could steal a moment alone before going to St. Georges College Perth.

When we arrived at St. Georges College near Perth we got right into some playful wedding day shots! Don’t you just love the framing of the vines. So lush and green!

The reception took place at  Notre Dame, Fremantle , a really romantic place for a wedding reception. So many guests commented on how gorgeous it was to be in an open air reception under the stars. Bathed in strings of fairy lights and candle light, the guests enjoyed the best, most scrumptious 5 star meal and some lovely words about the bride and groom.

You can see how the lights would add so much beauty to our photographs. It really adds a lot of depth to the wedding pictures to consider having some additional lighting at the reception.

Perth has so many perfect wedding locations but I really think Freo’s Notre Dame has got it right. With the rustic history of the brick buildings, the tree top canopy’s and the twinkling lights what a pretty spot. There can be so much romance to an open air wedding reception.

The guests had a fabulous time dancing the night away and Dave and I had an even better time photographing it all. Thanks Bev and Ash for choosing us to document your wedding day!

Caris + Daniel’s Wedding Sneak Peek

We’re very excited to share a few of our favourite photos from this Saturday’s wedding. The ceremony took place on the top on the hill at Ferguson Farm Stay… a wonderful hobby farm & vineyard atop a hill in the renowned Ferguson Valley in WA’s south west.

We will post more soon, but in the meantime here’s a little sneak peek of the creative session with the bridal party and the our awesome couple Caris and Daniel!

What a cool shot of the wedding party! This was after we’d just finished up some cool shots inside the old kombi! The Ferguson Valley certainly hosts some incredible backdrops for photos!

Caris arrived to the wedding ceremony in a gorgeous 1957 Chevy Belair Stretch Limo from Chevrolet Limousines out of Bunbury. You can’t even explain how cool this car is… custom from top to bottom. We had to incorporate this vintage car into some of the wedding photos! Such a beauty…

The light in the afternoon was just incredible. Scattered clouds and mild temperatures created this incredible warm glow that bounded off the lake down in the valley.

This is such a beautiful property! We loved the rolling hills and the magic light of sun set in the countryside. You can see why all of this beauty made an obvious choice for  a wedding venue.

Next we cruised down to the lake so the newly weds could soak in some of the wonderful serenity of the afternoon. You can see from the glassy water just how still the air was. Just a gentle rustle of leaves and the sounds of birds in the distance. The perfect spot to spend some peaceful time after a beautiful ceremony.

We saw a cool vintage canoe by the water’s edge and decided to see if Caris and Daniel would like to take a paddle together! They we’re very excited to, and they had an awesome chance to create a once in a lifetime experience together… as well as one of the best photo ops of the day!

How stunning is this view? Here we’re looking back up at the Ferguson Farm Stay, while the guests enjoyed champagne and the beautiful sun set. Our couple enjoyed the tranquility of taking in the day and the peacefulness of this pond. Such a magical day.

I have to say, this next picture is like one of the most romantic pictures from the whole day. Can’t you just feel the overwhelming love they feel for one another?

Thanks for reading – we look forward to sharing the whole wedding with you soon.

Jeff & Rachel’s UWA & Sandalford Wedding

One of our favourite weddings of the Summer has to be Jeff & Rachel’s at the UWA Sunken Garden & Sandalford Winery in the Swan Valley. It’s definitely a beautiful wedding and we’re very excited to share it with you!

Jeff and Rachel are an amazing couple (check out their engagement session), they really have such a strong bond with each other. You can easily see that they are truly the best of friends and have a lot in common.  Not only are they are both dentists but they love to swing dance and have fabulous style! One thing we really loved about them was to see a couple that are not only together because of the love they have for each other but because of the love they have for God as well. Their love and spirit really shines and we think you’ll see that through these photographs.

Rachel was an absolute vision with her ruby red lips and skin like porcelain. Her vintage 50′s gown was pure perfection! It made her looks as if she was transported from an era of old elegance and style.  All of the bridesmaids seemed to float with their soft peach silk gowns. I just loved the way the bridesmaid dresses looked with the hues of the floral bouquets.

It’s always a bit of fun when the guys wear fashionable groomsman socks, lol! They sure had some wedding day style and a few good laughs!

Rachel looked ethereal, floating down the aisle. As the wind caught her veil it took Jeff’s breath away. I love the look of him totally enamored by her beauty.

We love shooting at the University of Western Australia Sunken Garden. It’s a spectacular setting for the perfect wedding ceremony. It’s a peaceful, natural location surrounded by majestic trees. A gorgeous place to exchange vows and can easily accommodate all of your loving friends and family.

The ceremony was so spiritual and heartfelt. Everyone experienced a tear or two when the vows were read.

As they were announced man and wife the wedding guests cheered and the happy couple were so ecstatic. They smiled with delight as they walked down the aisle. Rachel’s vintage gown looked so whimsical on her, what a classic beauty she is!

The great thing about getting married at the Sunken Garden’s in UWA is having one of the best wedding photography locations in Perth at your finger tips. The stone columns and archways make an amazing backdrop for wedding pictures.

Lots of gorgeous greenery to play with as well. The grounds are so well kept, there are limitless photography locations at UWA!

Not sure if we have any Plants vs. Zombie fans out there… If we do you’ll get the image above. We love having funny moments with our couples!! So hilarious!

Absolutely adorable is how I would describe these girls! Sweet as sweet can be:)

Oh, the romance! I love this snugly shot. I also love the vibrant greens and all of the goodness the UWA gardens have to offer!

And in vintage style our newlyweds whisked away to the Swan Valley and Sandalford Winery!

I love this gorgeous rickety old house on the Sandalford Winery property. So old fashioned and so much soul to this image.

We took our handsome bridal party for a drive in the country to this lovely locale. It’s a spot we stumbled upon when we were photographing a couple that flew in from Hong Kong for a photo session with us. You may remember seeing their fun session on the blog…

These guys look pretty good I have to say. They’ve really got some serious style and charm!

The shot above says it all. This couple just glows with love. They took a moment to thank God for their blessings and just to feel His presence. Such a powerful shot for us. It really feels amazing to be able to create these meaningful images for our clients!

Oh… how I love vineyard weddings. There is so much beauty in natural country weddings portraits.

How breath-taking is the silhouetted photograph! It looks like a dream or maybe a movie poster, so magical!

The wedding details were a lot of fun. Rachel and Jeff had so many creative and unique wedding ideas!

The oak barrels and old winery charm made for a elegant evening for all!

One of our favourite things about the Oak Room at Sandalford Wines is the fact that it looks as regal as it does all the time. So timeless with so much character. It’s  interesting to see all of the barrels stacked row on row! The room really gives you the full winery wedding experience.

We really pride ourselves on the fact that we provide wedding reception coverage. It’s not always such a common thing here in Perth, but we find that there are so many beautiful moments that happen during speeches that we would otherwise miss if we didn’t offer this. The true expressions really do come out during this time. All of the smiles and the tears from those you love most. Isn’t that what wedding days are all about. Bringing the ones you love the most together to witness your love and telling them what they mean to you.

Our evening came to an end with a beautiful bridal waltz. Since Jeff and Rachel love to dance it was even more special.  Such a perfect end to a prefect wedding day! Thanks again to Rachel and Jeff for choosing us and having us along to your UWA and Sandalford Winery wedding!
