Recently, we had the pleasure to photograph Perth Wedding Planner, Crystal Adair-Benning of Distinct Occasions. She is an amazing woman and such an inspiration to so many wedding professionals world-wide. Crystal works across the globe but is most well known for her wedding work in in Perth, Australia; Toronto, Canada and Glasgow, Scotland. She is responsible for planning some of the most elaborate and stunning weddings these cities have seen. Crystals’ recent international work has also included Iceland and India.

We were thrilled when she asked us to put our wedding photography skills to use and take some head shots of her for her newly revamped website. We decided the perfect location was a gorgeous bushland reserve just north of Perth. It had some beautiful walking trails and scenery and is very close to our photography studio. Crystal looked so fabulous it was easy to get some great captures for her website!

We had a bit of fun with this shot. We had to take advantage of the stunning Bushland and Crystal went along with our quirky idea. Very powerful and fun! I love this shot. Crystal did a killer job of planning our wedding in Cottesloe this past February. This shot reminds me that there is nothing that this woman can’t do πŸ™‚

I love this one too. This adorable shot was taken in Perth City at Kings Park. We took a quick drive down to see the sunset and the city scape at night. I love the playfulness of this shot. Very cute!

Thanks so much for choosing us to do your new Wedding Planner head shots Crystal! We had so much fun and look forward to working with you on many more weddings in Perth and Toronto!

Today I’m pleased to be introducing you to the DJ who spun the tunes out our wedding in February… He’s a talented DJ and a really nice guy – his name is Dave Green of Komodo Music.

Perth Wedding DJ, Dave Green of Komodo Music

Our wedding went off without a hitch and that was largely due to Dave’s ability to tune into our crowd and use his seeming sixth sense to keep the vibe in the room just right.

We had our wedding reception at Barchetta in Cottesloe (pictures to be posted soon, we promise!) and it was a night to remember… We danced on the patio until the wee hours.

If you are searching for a Perth photographer to do a new set of business portraits / headshots, please give me a call at 0466 486 064 and we’ll set it up.

Cheers, Dave B.

Wow! What a great month we’ve had. Right now I’m relaxing by a roaring fire at our beautiful resort on Mont Tremblant writing this post. We’re shooting a gorgeous wedding at the Quintessence resort this weekend and the scenery here is absolutely breath taking! Speaking of stunning weddings, we were SO stoked when one of our couples were featured in Dolce Magazine this month. Dolce is a luxury lifestyle magazine with publications across Canada and the USA. We were pretty excited when they interviewed some of our fave clients, Sonny & Rachael about their own personal “Love Story.”

Sonny & Rachael had one of the sweetest love stories we had ever heard. Sonny, a doctor in the Oakville Hospital E.R., met Rachael, a nurse at the Hospital, one day when she dropped her napkin while enjoying her lunch. There he was, down on one knee, looking up at her with her napkin in his hand πŸ™‚ It wasn’t too long after that he was down on one knee again, this time asking Rachael to be his wife! Aww… Isn’t that so romantic. No wonder the magazine wanted to feature these two for A Dolce Love Story.

Wedding Photography Magazine

We had the best time shooting the wedding of Sonny & Rachael this July. They were a pleasure to photograph and are truly kind, generous and amazing people. For any brides to be, this article was a great read and lists many of the awesome wedding vendors they used for their special day! It was also a lovely way for Racheal & Sonny to reflect on their love for each other. Check out newsstands now to pick up your copy of Dolce Magazine… We’re honoured to have a feature photographer interview this month as well! Recently, Charlotte and I did a very cool kids shoot for Canadian Family magazine at The Brick Works Meadows in Toronto. We were charged with the task of chasing several kids around and capturing their shenanigans as they explored nature. It was a blast, and all the kids were so curious that it made taking the pictures a lot of fun.

We knew the shots were being printed for the Summer edition, but it was still very exciting to open the copy we picked up today and see our photo on the contents page, then to flip forward to the article and see four full pages of photos!! We weren’t expecting to have so many of the images in there, so it was a great surprise πŸ™‚

I just want to send a big shout out to Megan for referring us for this shoot! Megan’s a past bride of our and a managing editor at Canadian Family.
