Meet Tabitha and Cody! They are one of the coolest couples I’ve had the pleasure to photograph this year in Perth. They’re just so into each other and you can tell that something about them just clicks. These two are meant to be, and I feel really lucky to be the one to photograph their love!

We started out the shoot in some pretty light and I gave these guys some time to be playful and do what they do best – have fun together. If there is one thing for certain, Cody loves making Tabitha laugh!

I love the drama to these shots in the Paperbarks. We are so lucky here in Perth to have such a beautiful city to photograph and also such stunning nature reserves that make for amazing backdrops like these.

On one of my many vintage shop adventures around Perth, I sourced this funky velvet chair. I brought it along for a few cute back-lit photographs. Don’t you love how the sun floods the trees in this golden light… Dreamy!

Tabitha wore the perfect outfit for this location. I loved the way that the layers in her dress imitate the trees.

This is another vintage find I love. So much colour and pop! Tabitha is such a beauty, she makes my job way too easy!

How cute are these two!

To a Canadian photographer like me, I am always awe-struck by the nature around here. To me these back drops look like they are straight out of Lord of the Rings! I loved the natural archway in this shot. Cody is actually an amazing dancer and he had a bit of fun twirling Tabs around!

I have a bit of a collection of what I like to call Granny Blankets. I absolutely adore them. Maybe it’s because beautiful handmade things just have soul or because it’s just a pretty piece from the past.  My adorable couple loved them too and look so cute together in these shots!

Wow, remember what I was saying about the beauty of the light in Perth! It’s so true. I just love when you find that perfect spot where you’re bathed in gold light.

Once the sun went down Tabitha and Cody ventured out to North Beach for a few gorgeous pre-wedding  photos. I truly believe in the importance of having engagement photos done. It’s such a great way to warm up and have some beautiful images of the two of you together before the wedding. No timeline to follow, just a fun date with your special person. What a great way to remember your time together before you tie the knot!

They had the beach all to themselves. The waves were crashing and the wind danced in Tabitha’s hair. They got to take in the beautiful view while being with that one love they couldn’t live without.

I am so thrilled to be shooting your gorgeous wedding at the Hilton this month. You both are so full of love for each other I’m very blessed to be chosen to document your wedding day!

If you’d prefer, a wedding photography highlight of Andrew and Anna’s Quarry wedding click above!

Being wedding photographers in Perth, we always find ourselves surrounded by such beauty. Sometimes we forget how lucky we are to have such a beautiful landscape to play with. Anna and Andrew’s wedding featured a few of Perth’s prettiest photography spots! The stunning turquoise water at Scarborough Beach, the romantic dunes of City Beach, Perry Lakes and last but not least the spectacular Quarry Amphitheatre. We started off the day at Scarborough Beach’s Rendezvous Hotel. The girls were so excited to help Anna get into bride mode. They helped her transform into such an elegant bride.

The boys were having a relaxed time hanging out before the big event. Andrew was looking rather dapper and really looking forward to seeing his beautiful bride.

The wedding ceremony and wedding reception both took place at the Quarry Amphitheatre. As they entered, the guests were wowed by the uniqueness of this gorgeous location. It was the perfect spot for Anna and Andrew as they both work in the mining industry.

Such a beautiful look as Andrew sees his bride for the first time.

You can see that they were both so excited for this day and now to finally be married!

Their wedding ceremony was absolutely stunning. The lighting was soft and magical – just how we like it 🙂

We took the bridal limos, which consisted of classic Land Rovers and a Rolls Royce, down to Perry Lakes for some shots of the crew. The majestic trees really made for gorgeous light this time of day.

Andrew loves these classic Land Rovers, so to have them in the wedding photos was a very cool touch for them. He actually works on these classic cars to restore them to their once new condition.

This is one stunning couple, wouldn’t you agree!?

With sunset quickly approaching we captured these sunny shots of the bridal party and headed to City Beach to capture the last few moments of light. I’m glad we did because the soft clouds looked like painted feathers behind the sunset and felt very romantic.

As the sun went down the lights went up and the Quarry reception was in full swing. The way the lights played on the formations of rugged rock was simply magical. Being surrounded by rock made you feel as if  you were indoors but with a sky of stars over head.

So lovely, I just love open air receptions!

Thanks to Anna and Andrew for having us along for one amazing day! We wish you all of the happiness in the world!

What an amazing, incredible, unbelievable few months we have had. We’ve been very busy photographing heaps of weddings and engagement shoots in Toronto and globetrotting to exotic destinations shooting some pretty unreal weddings (coming soon!) But that’s not all… We have also been photographing some fabulous styled shoots and our work has been published on such blogs as WedLuxe, Style Me Pretty and now Australia’s go to wedding blog for Aussie brides, Polka Dot Bride. Since we split our time between our Toronto, Canada and Perth, Australia studios we have the awesome opportunity to share our international work with our readers from both sides.

We loved working with Wedding Planner extraordinaire Crystal Adair-Benning from Distinct Occasions on this shoot. She is an amazing talent that dreamed up the concept for the photo shoot. Like us, Crystal divides her time between Toronto, Canada and Perth, Australia catering to the wedding seasons in both countries.

I have to say that this bridal session was a lot of hard work but equally as fun. The shoot was so inspirational! When we saw the concept come together it was some serious eye candy for us photographers.

The rugged Australian terrain was so beautiful to photograph. I love the way the trees twist and curl in the background. Perth’s landscapes are just phenomenal! We feel so blessed to get to live in such a beautiful place.

Crystal flew over to Bali and found these amazing little pieces in Ubud for the shoot. The Balinese umbrellas are so detailed and gorgeous and the little baskets and bowls were an amazing find. It makes me want to do a little shopping trip of my own 😉

Acscents Floral’s did the wedding flowers for this bridal session. They are absolutely amazing and this is why Dave and I chose them to do our flowers for our wedding last February at Cottesloe Civic Centre!! Val, the florist, has such a creative eye. She creates interesting designs, more like floral works of art. I love the design she created for this shoot. Gorgeous floral’s trailing out of this unique nautilus shell.

Isn’t the light in Perth, W.A. out of control! I love breezy, glowing images like this.

I love this Kuste VW Kombi we had the pleasure to photograph during the bridal session. Why not get creative with you wedding and drive your crew around in style in this sweet ride.

For it’s age, it was amazing that this vintage Kombi was so immaculate. It was like new and an amazing detail for our shoot. Sooo beachy chick. Doesn’t it just make you want to load it up with friends and have a bbq on the beach.

Thanks to all of our Perth wedding vendors that took part in this day full of fun, you guys are the best. A special thanks to Rosin from Alpha Models for our stunning model Anique.

Hi again everyone 🙂 A couple of days ago we posted a gorgeous bridal session Photographed in Perth’s Swan Valley… Well today comes not only the other half of that photo shoot, but also a video of the photos… Yey!!

So let’s kick things off with the video… We set the images to one of my favourite songs on the radio right now… DNA by Thirsty Merc.

These wedding photos were done at Caversham House, in the Swan Valley, just outside of Perth. This is literally one of the best wedding photography locations in Perth, bar none. Romantic, intimate, lush and the light is to die for.

We began the second half of the photo session by setting up a quaint picnic on the lawns below the Secret Garden at Caversham House. Charlotte has been acquiring props for these wedding photos over the last few weeks at op shops around Perth… So once we arrived and saw the pink and white roses in the garden, she pulled out just the right crochet blankets. She topped off the picnic basket with red and green apples and a pear or two for good measure.

Emily & Wilson sat down to enjoy a few quiet minutes together as the sun drifted behind the clouds. Splashes of golden light would fall on the couple each few minutes as they laughed and fed each other various goodies packed into their picnic lunch.

The photo shoot felt like a chance for the two of them to unwind together and enjoy soaking in each others presence… It’s cool to see couples so happy and in love.

Our breath taking bride decided that Wilson deserved to be fed the mini apple pie by hand and proceeded with a mischievous glint in her eye.

As Wilson took a tentative bite, Emily pressed the powdered sugar top onto his nose… too cute.

After enjoying a bite to eat, the couple spent some time on the old-fashioned swing before exploring the Secret Garden together, whispering into each others ear as they bathed in the tranquility of Caversham House’s gardens.

As you can see, the angles for gorgeous wedding photography at Caversham aren’t limited… the contrast of the manicured garden to the rustic Eucalyptus trees really does make for gorgeous wedding photography locations.

The love that Emily and Wilson share is so evident in the soft touches and gentle caresses they shared.

I love these soft, magical shots taken from the other side of the rose gardens… It really conveys the sense of calm that the garden has.

What a gorgeous couple eh? I love this fashion style pose they struck… what a cool couple!

This photo above again proves the vast range of wedding photography locations that Caversham House has! Awesome.

Emily  & Wilson, Thanks so much for your generosity of spirit, wonderful attitude and most of all, for trusting us to photograph your bridal session. We wish we could have made it to your wedding in Hong Kong. All the very best from both of us. Dave & Charlotte, Your Photografriends 🙂

When you decide to have your wedding reception at an amazing venue like Fraser’s Restaurant in Kings Park, you already know the meal and service will be second to none, so all you need to do next work choose a team of vendors who can bring a vision together for your wedding reception. It’s no wonder Kings Park Function Centre, by Fraser’s was awarded “Wedding Venue of the Year” at the 2010 WA Restaurant & Catering Industry Awards in June.

Recently I had the privilege of photographing the reception set up for a good friend of ours, international wedding planner Crystal Adair Benning, who like us lives an endless Summer, hopping back and forwards between Perth, Western Australia and Toronto, Canada. Crystal was working together with the talented Cathrin D’Entremont, wedding coordinator & designer of Cathrin D’Entremont Weddings on this wedding and I have to say, the girls rocked it!

Kings Park is well known for the world class view and for wedding photographers it’s an absolute dream to use as a photography location. With a location like Frasers you can either enjoy the view from your table or take a stroll as dusk approaches to soak in the incredible atmosphere as the top most leaves of the ghost gums catch the last remnants of golden sunlight.

As you can see, 3 chandeliers hung in the room and created an elegant focal point for the room, centered above the head table, where chairs were hired from Orielle. What a great touch.

The bride designed the head table layout and chose all the decor… cute eh?

The white tulips on the head table were done by Angel Flowers. Cute, elegant and understated.

Everywhere I looked in the room there were great little details, like this bottle of wine with a custom designed logo to match the menu.

The 10 tier wedding cake is one of the prettiest I’ve seen. It’s topped with a cute pair of crystal swans. It was designed by Devine Cakes – what a apt name!

Honestly, this has to be the best wedding cake ever! Just stunning.

Not a single detail was overlooked with this wedding… This wishing tree is so cute… and a great idea for a way to keep your friends and families thoughts.

The crème de la crème of the room may well have been the meticulously planned Candy buffet. The newlyweds own a lolly shop in Perth and thought it only appropriate to theme a table to their wedding! They used all white, creams and off white coloured lollies and a variety of jars to create this tempting table of tasty treats 🙂

Finally, here’s the list of suppliers who helped with creating such a stunning wedding reception.
